PLENARY SESSION
TO EVERYONE - Most important
- What you’re going to do
- What you need others to do
- Unfinished business

1) CHARLOTTE
- Really happy partners for youth exchanges and invited to one – that’s why I was here. Interesting discussion about going to other continents
- I will go home to investigate this more
- Thank you for new ideas about evaluation and games

2) NIKOLA - Came with aim of doing exchange in Estonia, and to try
to open my mind for new and fresh project ideas. I found so many. Want to say thank you for this.
Also meeting new people.

3) MANUELA - I’m very happy to come back here. I took a lot from
everybody. These exchanges are very important to me, the work that you do in your towns, each of you. It has given me the opportunity to begin work with Romania and Scotland.

4) SHEILA - Got a great deal out of last couple of days. All engaged in some sort of ideas, going in same directions. Two
Things we should do:
Raise Profile – Over the years we’ve changed thousands of lives
Sponsorship - If we’re not paid much and are scrambling around for pounds here and there we’re never going to be able to raise profile.
So that’s what I’m going to take away. Let’s shout it, let’s tell it.
Specific Actions: Each country doing research, starting small in own countries, using what contacts we have eg media, chamber of commerce etc.

5) ZE - I expect the applications will be made and hopefully
approved. We will contact people and make the exchanges happen. I will contact Robert + ?
I hope we will have the journal (G2). I am excited about Italian G2 conference. Need to make it more concrete. It is very nice to go out of Portugese routine – very energising.

6) SIGITA - One concrete think – very important to try to find
Participation fees for YP. As I work in a charity fund I will try to do this as part of my job. I will try to take YP from orphanages where I work on exchanges. Also very excited to host and will do applications etc

7) GRACA - Most important – very relaxed and good ambience. We
were very calm and focussed on what was important.
Personal task – go find what’s happening with agencies in Portugal; print evaluation journal; help to organise facebook, meet with Gaiac to confirm projects we’ve put our name to.
For others – choose advisory panel; other individual tasks which people recognised
Unfinished – Calendar; advisory panel; ghosts!

After this – advisory panel discussion
Currently on Lorenzo, Iwan, Steve
Panel there just in case there’s conflict
Nominations: Iwan - named by Ze
Anu, Ze – named by Bo
Roxana named by Iwan
Graca – named by Eugenia
Charlotte – named by Nicola

Ze declined nomination
Voting : Iwan 15 - elected
Anu 15 - elected
Roxana 11
Graca 10
Charlotte 12 - elected

8) KATJA - Wanted to say we couldn’t host anything in 2008 and Now we have two things! So now I have to go back To Milan and explain!
The energy motivates you and you agree to things. But when you get home it’s easy to forget amidst routine. So what I would like to try is to keep t his energy and motivation.
For Others – Go on with your work!!
Very happy to meet new people
Undone – There’s so much to do still. But I think I’d like in the future – meetings to speak more about the content of exchanges. Important to improve the depth of what we do, and the self-criticism/reflection – step to one side and see if we can improve. Agree that we need to raise profile. Would be nice in future to organise events/ exhibitions for all partner countries, as discussed in group. Could also be way of raising profile.

9) KAREN - Important – re-connecting, finding common ground
Excited about – Events planned 2009
Excited about – Senior members training
Actions – Talk to our young people, especially about this
For others – keep on doing what you’re doing!
Unfinished – ongoing debates and that’s what’s exciting

10) ANU - Very happy to be here. Been away for a while. Maybe
Because of this I forgot what dimensions dfp has – it’s really strong. Lots of work done. Important that calendar almost done. Hope all applications will be approved. Glad to be back and thank you from bottom of my heart.

11) ROBERT - Don’t know what to say apart from Thank you. Full of
ideas and enthusiasm. Echo what Katja said. Everybody knows what I feel but I know everybody feels same about everybody else. It’s good. Learnt lots of things from G2. We need to keep on questioning whether it’s good to keep taking pounds.
Happy people have more specific roles. Also grateful for individual conversations. Seems every second being here gives you a lot. So good to see people who know they change things using arts, good energy, happiness and good will.

12) LLEW - Lots of things – everything everyone else has said! Idea
of doing skills audit in relation to marketing, raising profile – to explore what skills in different countries. I’m happy to organise and create/develop and focus for organisers, youth workers, artists. To carry these conversations on.
Happy to distribute the links
Really happy with new design of website
I feel it’s important to expand section of guidelines – re. group leaders.
Have contacts in Africa – really happy to distribute those.
Happy to work on “threads” (photographic) project.

13) INDREK - Very nice to be here. – I feel more clear about youth
Exchanges and I must apply quickly. Estonian National Agency requires list of participants – please help me with t his. I’m going back with exciting news for my youngsters and I have many new ideas to do with my youngsters – eg. Feedback from YP who were involved 6-7 years ago, able to use in future applications. Ze asks can you send this info. to everybody – of course!

14) CRISTINA - I feel it was a place for sharing – received many ideas - developing strong relationships – it feels like a start. I
Feel as though I have a heavy duty – we need a lot of pounds to give our youngsters the chance they deserve. I received a lot from your brains and your hearts. If I as an adult, received all this from you, what can young people receive? I need to learn more, so I can convince others. A heavy duty at home.

15) EUGENIA - I feel as though I was engaged to my husband and it was
the moment to meet his family and I feel now I am part of this family and the family is fundamentally bigger – including YP – my duty is now to share this. I will go home working with my team, developing projects, keeping in touch with you all and it’s a good start for ACTOR in dfp.

16) STEFANITA - I have got a lot of power to enable me to fight with my
National Agency to do more in this network. The money differential is huge, what we try to do with our Group is to prepare them to be tolerant. We will try to find ways to get pounds from companies to make it easier for our YP to participate. Also we must show to the world it’s very important.

17) GILL - I came for opportunities for YP we work with; to offer;
With love and laughter and I go back with love and
laughter. Thank you very much

18) ROXANA - Came here quite selfishly because I was feeling very
down and lonely – so I wanted to see them to say thank you. So I came selfishly but hope I also gave something. Want to take – ideas of recognition/qualification for participants. I want to organise this, so YP I take can get something recognised. Also want to get them more involved in their own applications for participation fees. Eg. Youth Bank important that they take responsibility. My organisation Tribes net Tribes is not constituted. If we were, we might be able to drawn down funding – but we’ve survived 10 years! – so when I go back I think about this again – ongoing question.

19) RAZA - I will leave this place with challenges – an application
To write; to continue to try to understand G2 Project . When we started it was a challenge and now half way through it’s more challenging to learn from our mistakes and find a way through. So I leave this place with challenges and hope.

20) LEA - My situation is strange as I’m not Youth Worker at
moment but I want to continue with dfp…… we got a bit carried away – we signed up to lots – but in a good way! This kind of meeting gives you inspiration, good is best and bad cold!

21) BO - Thank you to Iwan for guiding us through.
Think we have all reached a lot of things – a big calendar and some great ideas.
Some concrete things to do – partner docs.
I will make application for administrative grant for project.
Notes from Group discussions will come up on internet.
I would ask for lists for suitable grant –giving bodies, companies (ethical) etc. from each country when I receive them I will work on applications.
Raising profile – if all countries could put together a press/media list, if you want something sent centrally, I will need that from you – including unions – youth workers, teaches, psychologists etc. If you want DVD distributed to them, I will do that.
Also have a press release template that I can send you.
Have lots of stuff now – DVD, Logo, stickers and new web design thanks to G2 funding.
So lots of good things happening – let’s communicate it.
Stress again – each country send Bo list of unions – social workers, teachers, youth workers, psychologists, important for them to know.

22) IWAN - Thanks Bo – he is the rock upon which all this is built.
On behalf of Osian, whose organisation works with kids who have been thrown out of their homes and they are so thirsty for all this – a great opportunity – thank you.End.
