• Discussion about properly
setting up the amenity fund - and setting up a Grant Committee and criteria/guidelines,
so that Organisations should apply
•
Talked previously about adding a little on to the lower cost Exchanges
(eg. camping) to put into amenity fund
•
Bo pointed out very difficult to apply for general funding
•
Roxana said that, if we have a calendar we could apply in advance on something
quite specific.
•
Need list of Organisations where we can apply
•
Small discussion as to how they should be ethical and how difficult to
define this.
•
Is the idea that it goes into the amenity pot? Very difficult to apply
to national grant giving trusts for an international network
•
Suggestion that it should be a requirement for host Organisations to fundraise
for x % of cost of Exchange. This could facilitate paying Youth Workers
•
We could all do research in our own countries into international companies.
•
DFP run a training course on how to get sponsorship from business?
•
Approach co-operative societies.
•
Shipping companies?
•
Back to the ethical issues – whatever the multi-national , someone
may disapprove.
•
Bo – I can support and assist the network in applications, but I
will need to know where it’s sent. If every country provides a list
of potential sources of funding (grant giving Organisations/local government
co-operatives etc. etc.) Bo will provide a template so if, for example,
Lithuania is going on two Exchanges, they could apply to various sources
for Young People who couldn’t afford participation fees.
•
Check with Banks, Unions about funding
•
Discussion about logos/press/mascots/photocalls etc.- also raising the
profile of the network
•
Maybe the hosting Organisation could raise funding for participation fees
for incoming participants + for host costs. Some controversy here
•
Use hosting an event to encourage funding for your own young people participating
in future Exchanges
•
Perhaps easier to get equipment/materials
